A solitary mason bee hotel, crafted with guidance from http://www.foxleas.com/bee_house.htm, utilizes hole diameters spanning 2mm-10mm in increments of 2mm. Work is ongoing and a design revision is under way, with results to be reported later. Initially, it was observed that the print time would be lengthy, necessitating adjustments. Infill has been set at 10% and the Z-axis scaling reduced by 50%. Further modifications will improve functionality. A redesign is complete, with reduced numbers of holes in alignment for optimal effectiveness. A more compact exterior design, crafted to minimize material usage, has also been incorporated to better protect bees from weather elements. Test prints are forthcoming to evaluate success.
