Bee Feeder and Waterer

Hello! I designed this bee feeder, carefully distinct from the esteemed Beefeaters of old. The concept is straightforward - provide a welcoming space for bees to collect water for their essential pollenation, feeding, and hive-keeping tasks. The feeder necessitates a "wide mouth" mason jar as its water container. I opted for a Ball wide mouth jar with an outside diameter of 3 3/8" (86mm). In my yard, I harbor blue orchard bees (BOBs) and green orchard bees (GOBs), both of which require readily available sources of water and dirt to construct protective mud walls around their eggs. Their tiny abodes and this freshwater bath are the minimum I can offer these industrious pollinators as they generously contribute to my garden's fertility! Note: Do not print with PLA if you plan to use this in a location with direct sunlight exposure; the PLA will degrade due to the sun's heat alone. This is a single piece print that demands no supports or rafts. Enjoy!
