Bee Feeder and Waterer

I crafted this bee feeder, distinct from the legendary Beefeaters of old, as a haven where bees can bask in the sun and access water essential for their pollination, feeding, and hive maintenance duties. The feeder utilizes a "wide mouth" mason jar as its water reservoir. I selected a Ball wide mouth jar boasting an outside diameter of 3 3/8" (86 mm) to ensure ample space for the bees' needs. In my yard, I care for blue orchard bees (BOBs) and green orchard bees (GOBs), both requiring readily available sources of water and dirt to construct protective mud walls around their eggs from predators and harsh weather conditions. Their tiny homes and this freshwater oasis are merely a gesture of appreciation for the valuable pollination services provided by these little friends that thrive in my garden.
