Bed Perimeter Rectangle For Leveling and Calibrating your printer

thingiverse

Use this rectangle to level up your 3D printer precision. Stretch or shrink the rectangle in both axes until it fits snugly onto the build plate, then crank up the number of shells to max. Start printing and observe how the plastic stream flows around the perimeter. Wherever the plastic appears more compressed indicates that the plate and extruder are closer together, while less compression means they're farther apart. Adjust the leveling screws as needed while it prints until the surface looks perfectly even all around. This method is far more accurate than relying on a piece of paper. You can also fine-tune other settings by analyzing the bead's thickness or thinness and whether it's too close or too far from the extruder. This technique is perfect for calibrating your printer before starting a big print job. Once you're done leveling and tuning, simply halt the print, remove the test piece, and you're ready to go!
