bed leveling anet A6 with analog and digital indicator (gauge)
thingiverse
Measuring is knowing. The tedious job of setting up the Anet A6 printer can be streamlined with good old analog dial indicators. First, we fixed the Anet printer at right angles to a flat furniture plate (with four hooks on the X-axis threaded rods). The two analog dial indicators are screwed onto the holders "Klokhouder2" (Freecad and STL files attached) with two screws M5 20mm and bolts. The two analog dial indicators are clicked left and right on the Z bridge. A further tightening is normally not necessary. To set the Z bridge, turn the threaded rods with steppers disabled so that both meters are at zero. At the home position of the Anet 3D printer, the meters should now normally show equal values. So far so good. With the third dial indicator, the warm bed is placed level. Place the digital dial indicator on the holder "centrale klok" (Freecad and STL files attached) and place three magnets diameter 12mm and 3mm thick in the recesses. These magnets center the holder on the leading rods of the Z bridge. With the four screws of the warm bed, the whole is placed at the same height. FIRST without and then possibly with glass plate. The value you have to keep to is the function of the Z zero position on the printer and the distance from the nozzle to the leading rods. Once that value is known, it should be noted for further use. Normally this is a fixed value. All abnormalities are now indicated and measured by the meters. You will already realize that the central clock must be placed manually to the left and right of the nozzle in order to level both sides of the bed. However, this is no problem as the magnets center the holder ... (Idea by Tonny Scherpenbergh. ..thanks) Success and know measuring is knowing. PS Our experience is analog for the two dial indicators because it just has to indicate two equal positions, and digitally for the warm bed leveling (value can even be sent to computer via plug). The three clocks together can already be in your possession for 25€, given the double measurement on the left and right, the two analog meters do not require great accuracy, but they should have both identical properties ... ("double weighting ", you see ...)
