Bed-Level Tester (e.g. MP Select Mini)
thingiverse
Beyond a simple sheet of paper test, manually leveling your 3D printer bed is enhanced by a test print that clearly shows the first layer of lines being deposited. This involves printing a set of squares with circles inside them, providing a quick and effective way to evaluate my MonoPrice Select Mini setup (12cm cubic print volume) and assess its adhesion capabilities. Occasionally, straight lines appear to be working properly, but curved or diagonal traces fail to stick, prompting me to check the level and ensure that my tape-plus-glue approach is sufficient. The pattern itself is 105 mm square in size. I recommend printing this test with a 3mm brim for a rapid and thorough evaluation. In most cases, I don't print this test for more than a few minutes because I can quickly identify any issues after the first layer is completed. The circular elements also provide reassurance; if they appear distorted, it may indicate an aspect ratio problem. If you accidentally let the print run all the way through, it will consume only about 5 grams of filament, which is negligible. If you do end up printing the entire test, I'd appreciate seeing a picture of your finished product – it's always exciting to see how others' prints turn out!
