Bed handle for Wanhao Di3 / Monoprice Maker Select v2.1
thingiverse
Ever accidentally burn your finger or hand while moving the print bed when it's still hot? I have, and I've printed some makeshift bed handles in the past, but they came loose a bit too easily due to the double-sided tape not holding up well under heat. This is a hybrid design that combines elements from polysquare's and Mechman's bed handles. I liked the width of polysquare's design, but it didn't fit my MakerSelect v2.1; I liked Mechman's handle height, but the handle was too wide. When I merged them together, it worked, but the mount wasn't 100% secure. So, I merged it with my own design that used a cable chain mount, and it turned out perfect! You can now push and pull the bed securely. This bed handle requires a square cut hole in your Di3 or MakerSelect v2.1 Y-axis plate. If you don't have that square hole, this design isn't for you. To assemble, simply print, snap on, and you're done. No tape or screws are needed to make it work. However, I did add some double-sided tape to make it a bit more secure. Print Settings: Printer: Maker Select v2.1 Supports: Yes Resolution: 20% Notes: Since the clip-on part is quite fine in detail, you'll want the detailed side facing upwards. So, print the handle upside down and use heavy support. With Cura's support configuration: Support type = Touching build plate Structure type = Lines Overhang angle for support (deg) = 60 Fill amount (%) = 15 Distance X/Y (mm) = 0.7 Distance Z (mm) = 0.15
