Bebop 2 Sun Visor - Better Images/Videos from your drone!
myminifactory
So I found out about the Parrot Drone Accessory Design competition two days before it ended, and I'm thrilled to share my creation with you. This is what I've come up with after a lot of brainstorming, and many ideas have emerged from this process, but due to my limited CAD skills at the moment, this design was the most achievable within the timeframe available. A rough sheet of accessory ideas is attached in the pictures section. This is a sun visor designed for the Parrot Bebop 2 drone. It should significantly improve video and image output from your drone by blocking out the sun to prevent lens flares. Lens flares are a known issue when using the Bebop 2 as a filming or photography drone, according to my research. Note that I don't own a Bebop 2 drone, so exact measurements couldn't be made since no precise sizes were provided in the reference files from MMF for the Bebop 2. Instead, I used the .stl file of the drone's bottom chassis and took measurements from it using Netfabb. I then compared these sizes against different images of the drone online to come up with accurate measurements that I used to create the visor. As a result, I cannot guarantee that the visor will fit the Bebop 2 drone perfectly. Even if I don't place in this contest, I've made tremendous progress in improving my CAD skills through designing the visor! I learned how to use Autodesk 123D Design, Netfabb, and Meshmixer to create the final file. As a young student just starting out in 3D design, I've gained a lot from this task. Thanks for your time! Credit goes to Kirby Downey for his Bebop 2 mount file, which was used in this model. I didn't design the connector!
