Bebop 2 Akku Mod
thingiverse
I wasn't thrilled with the original battery from my Bebop 2. After a few charges, you can notice that capacity starts dropping off rapidly. I replaced the original LiPo with three 21700 LiIo batteries and was amazed at the difference. To fit the cover, I made a cutout and closed it with a printed part. I used Samsung INR21700-40T 4000mAh 35A LiIon batteries to upgrade my drone's performance. Flight times are now an impressive 21 minutes. However, I soon realized that the Bebop electronics shut down at 3.5 Volts. This actually helps save battery life too - between 3.5 and 4.2 Volts, the current drops significantly to 2700 mA. A notable difference is how the last 10% of charge depletes just as quickly as the first 90%. This is a significant improvement over the original battery. To charge my upgraded battery, I use the IMAX B6AC V2 with an adapter cable connected to the original port. Samsung recommends charging at 0.5C, which translates to 2000 mA. The weight increase of about 70 grams didn't seem to affect flight performance in any way. Please keep in mind that all modifications made to your drone are done at your own risk.
