Beat Saber Staff

Beat Saber Staff

A crude-but-effective STL design for attaching your touch controllers to a 1-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe, created for wielding a Darth Maul-style staff in Beat Saber. I'm not skilled at 3D modeling, so feel free to enhance this design if you can. Items needed: PVC Pipe 1-2 feet long (20 inches works well for a comfortable two-handed grip, matching the size of Darth Maul's hilt) Small diameter bolt & nut (I used spare 5mm ones from my Anet A8) Suggested tools: Sandpaper, Dremel This is very rough; expect to do some sanding/Dremeling to get it to fit perfectly. Currently, it only covers a tiny part of the grip button. Instructions: 1) Print one, then print one mirrored. 2) Insert the end of the mount into the PVC pipe. You'll likely need to do a little sanding; that's intentional, and it should stay in place without moving. 3) Drill out the hole to the right size for your chosen bolt. The hole is intentionally undersized. 4) Place your controller inside, and tighten the bolt. It should be possible to get it just tight enough so you can pull it out, but it won't come loose during play. The stock print covers a little bit of the grip button; either press the button in (not used for Beat Saber) or use a Dremel/knife to trim that part down. OPTIONAL: There's a hole at the bottom for the wrist straps. Remove them (don't cut them off!) and use them as a safety harness if it does come loose. It also makes it easier to insert and remove the controller from the harness. Remove the battery cover, and you'll find a little rubber plug holding the wrist strap in place. Pull it out, and the strap will come with it. Then loop the strap around the touch and around the base of the mount (see photo). I won't be updating this design; either use it as-is or improve it yourself.
