Beastgrip Remix MK2 (In Development)
thingiverse
Hello all, welcome to the development of the Beastgrip Remix version 2. Unlike my usual approach, where I complete a project before sharing it, I've decided to take a different route for this one. This time around, I'm excited to collaborate with you and build the next iteration through crowd-sourcing ideas and suggestions. You can track the progress of this project on my Tumblr page at http://sketchpunklabs.tumblr.com/tagged/BeastGripRemix. Let's dive into the goals for Mark 2: * Rail Frame Design: The primary objective is to create a flexible rig that allows users to customize their setup by purchasing smaller or larger rods, depending on their needs. This design also aims to reduce the number of parts required, as the rods make up most of the frame. Additionally, the two-rail system enables easy attachment and detachment of camera arms or other accessories. * Different Handles: With a rail frame in place, I'd like to offer optional and varied handle designs. Initially, I'll provide a standard Beastgrip handle and one built using bicycle handles. * Battery Pack Support: To address power needs during extended photo shoots or video recording sessions, I aim to create a system that allows users to attach various size and shape battery packs. This will enable them to prolong their device's battery life while working. * Shutter Button: A key feature for this project is the development of a large shutter button that can be attached to the rig, providing better control over taking pictures without needing to touch the screen. Goals and Progress: Progress on the project is underway, with the frame, clamp, and lens mount already completed in their first draft design. However, there are still some tasks remaining: 1. Creating handles 2. Developing a shutter button 3. Pricing out the cost of parts for a potential DOF adapter If you have any suggestions or ideas to improve the current design, please share them with me. I'm particularly interested in finding a step-down filter ring that's only 3mm thick, as this would help resolve an issue with the lens mount. This will enable me to create a more streamlined and user-friendly VR setup using the same principles as my current Beastgrip Remix project.
