Beast Wars Transformer Cicadacon's Wing/Blade

This toy component originated from Hasbro's Beast Wars line in 1996. The Predacon transformer known as Cicadacon was equipped with cicada wings that doubled as a blade weapon and projectile. As part of a trio transforming from insect/crustation, Cicadacon combined with its fellow Predacons to form the robot Tripredacus. Missing one of the two blades from my childhood Hasbro Cicadacon toy prompted me to design and 3D print a replacement. The original design credit goes to Hasbro. Designing This Component To create this model, I used SolidWorks 2015 software. I imported orthographic pictures with maximum zoom to minimize perspective distortion as references using the "Sketch Picture" function. A caliper was also employed to take precise measurements. This part was designed after a physical object, with original design credits belonging to Hasbro. SolidWorks Model The bottom image represents the original component, while the top shows the 3D printed replacement made from Solutech Apple Green PLA material.
