Bearingless Kossel Carraige
thingiverse
I decided not to spend money on linear bearings, so I came up with this solution instead. They work extremely well. These are being used in conjunction with OPENBEAM extrusions, which means you might not achieve the same results with other brands. To get optimal performance, change #define DELTA_CARRIAGE_OFFSET to 18 and use the new top pieces if you only want to utilize one idler bearing on the belt. If you're using multiple idler bearings, you can keep the stock top piece, but you'll encounter some binding at extreme heights. https://youtu.be/SZKkPdt6040 I should have mentioned earlier that this solution is specifically designed for the 1515 model. Here are my print settings: Printer: Custom Mendel Rafts: No rafts were used. Supports: No supports were used. Resolution: A resolution of .3 was used. Infill: The infill percentage was set to 25%. Notes: I had to experiment with layer width for a while, but it wasn't too difficult since I use Simplify3D. My printer is configured with a .4mm nozzle and 1.75 PLA filament. I designed this using Solidworks.
