bearing roller sled
thingiverse
I built a bearing roller stand for use in my dry box. The filament spool sits atop the rollers, ensuring smooth pulling during printing. The sled's design allows it to snap together easily; I suggest using ABS since the rods that hold the bearings need some flexibility when snapped into place. This prevents PLA from breaking during assembly. My idea for snap fitting came from observing other parts on Thingiverse, but I drew up my own design. To achieve optimal results, use 8x24x8 bearing rollers. The stand is specifically designed to accommodate 100mm radius, 200mm diameter filament spools without increasing their height. This was crucial since the previous roller stand made it too tall, preventing me from closing the lid on my dry box.
