bearing press adapters (bicycle hub: 6802, 6803, 6804, 6901, 6902, 6903)

I did a quick design on some bearing press adapters to service my MTB wheels and freehub body. The adapters measure “inner/outer bearing diameter – 0,1 mm” to ensure a snug fit but make them removable after the bearing is seated. They’re also designed with a small step (0.2 mm) on the edge of the outer diameter to make sure pressure is only applied to the outer race of the bearing while pressing. The inner hole of the adapter measures Ø 7,9 mm to make it work with an M8 threaded rod, some washers and nuts. The thread diameter of an M8 screw measures Ø 7,9 mm so an Ø 8 mm bore would have been to wobbly – but depending on your print settings the fit might be too tight. In this case redrill the holes with a Ø 7,9 mm or maybe even an Ø 8 mm drill bit. Just make sure to have as little play as possible between the adapter and the rod to prevent the adapter from critical angular misalignment. I printed them in PLA with 100 % infill and 0,2 mm layer height – it got the job done. If there’s demand for additional adapter sizes leave a comment. Happy hub servicing!
