Bearing Mount (Pillow Block) Ver 2
thingiverse
This bearing mount is based on an earlier design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4281) but adapted for use with 80/20 aluminum framing. Two changes were made to suit this purpose: a wider body to accommodate the T-bolt channel of the frame, and larger bearing mounting holes to take M6 bolts. It's designed to support an 8mm leadscrew similar to that used in the MakerBot CC. A matching 80/20 NEMA17 stepper motor mount (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5391) is also available, with a shaft height of 21.5mm for compatibility. The part prints at 65mm x 40mm x 17mm without an HBP but may require higher infill density depending on the user's needs. Post-printing involves scraping excess plastic from the bearing opening and pressing in an 806 ball bearing. If sanding, do it before installing the bearing. A tight fit might need slight drilling of mounting holes, so use flat washers or cap headed bolts for mounting to prevent stress on the mounting holes. Sanding with 220 grit paper gives a better finish but isn't necessary.
