Bearing Drive DUAL Filament Holder WITH RUNOUT SENSORS
thingiverse
Designed for DIRECT DRIVE CONVERTED Ender 3V2 printers, to be mounted on the back side of the top rail connecting the Z axis rails. Can be used on any printer with a horizontal rail connecting Z axis'.STEP file provided for any modifications you may need(10/4/24) FINAL VERSION! There will be no more revisions for this part, have been running it for 3 months now with no issue, latest update included slanted runout sensor mounts to solve binding and feeding issues from V1, disregard outdated pictures, STL file is up to date. Also revised the roller, it is now a 3 piece assembly for ease of printing and servicing. I have also tried splicing two runout sensor cables together, I believe you would have sucess with some kind of diode between the two sets of signal wires to prevent backfeeding, for ex: the active runout sensor runs out of filament... meanwhile the second filament sensor still has filament in the sensor, sending the correct signal to the board, and the print continues even though there is no filament in the extruder. Vice versa, no filament in the second sensor, means the print won't start/continue until filament is loaded because they are acting as one sensor.Improves print quality by relieving extra stress applied to the stepper motor because of poor feedability. You may notice smoother walls, and less noise. Two filament sensors in case you are doing multi color prints, or if you want to use the rest of your filament rolls, simply swap plugs.Holds (2) 1kg filament spools.REQUIRED PARTS:(4X) 10mm I.D. 26mm O.D. Bearings(2-4X) Longer bolts for mounting + T capture nuts. Personally, I'm only using the two outer holes for mounting to the X-axis(2X) Filament Runout sensors(4X) Zip Ties for retaining capsGlue for the three piece roller clips
