Bearing cleaner
thingiverse
I share this example of bearing cleaner primarily to illustrate an idea rather than facilitate immediate printing. The design was tailored to fit an empty jar I had on hand. My primary focus was on ensuring the stability of the bearings in the most efficient manner possible. To achieve stability, I opted for flexible filament, which I prefer and find easier to work with when incorporating stabilizing features into the jar. As a result, I had to employ 100% infill for the rod to guarantee its stiffness. Supports were only used for the concave area of the lower crosspiece, which was designed to mirror the shape of the jar's base. The rod extends up to the jar's rim (slightly forcing the cover outward). I calculated the stack height carefully, including 7mm bearings, spacers, and a top crosspiece, to ensure it reached the top of the rod. This minimalist design proved successful, printing quickly and easily. In my experience, even vigorous shaking did not cause any parts to move during cleaning.
