The artifacts pulled out of Russell Cave give us a glimpse into what mattered most to its former residents. They didn't just live off the land; they also took pride in how they looked. Several fancy objects have been dug up, including this beautifully carved bone pendant made from a black bear's sharp tooth. Other ornamental finds from the site include wooden rat teeth with holes drilled through them and shell beads that could be threaded onto a necklace.
