Bear Raspberry Pi Box w/o Step Down Mount
thingiverse
I'm planning to shorten the box slightly since I won't be using the printer's power supply to run the Raspberry Pi. To make the MK2.5 and MK3 cases look as similar as possible, I'll be using a short USB cable to connect at the top and a standard 2.5 amp power connector for the Pi 3 B+. The step-down unit mount will remain in place, potentially used for a zip tie loop later on. With this adjustment, I hope to use the stock cable length, but I may still need to extend them. The original Raspberry Pi cover should fit as before. The previous version was slightly too short and had incomplete hex nuts at the bottom. This updated design should print fine, although it will have some awkward-looking parts inside where the raspberry mount meets the Einsy mount. I've made the opening for the rpi cover larger to ensure a proper fit, which I previously managed to achieve with extensive sanding. The build is now mounted on a frame, but the wires are just a tad short on my MK2.5 Bear Frame and even more so on a standard MK2/2.5 Bear frame due to their width difference.
