Bear frame mounted filament sensor with PC4-M10 couplings
prusaprinters

This is a remix of the frame-mounted filament sensor for Sebastian's Afterbearner - the Bear Afterburner Extruder. I typically print out of a drybox and like to keep my filament encased and away from ambient humidity right up until it enters my extruder, so I added threads for a second PC4-M10 Bowden coupler that attaches to the underside of the sensor mount. The filament travels from the drybox to the first coupling through a piece of PTFE tubing, passes through the sensor mount, and exits into a second piece of tubing that goes to the extruder. This will work with all printers that use 2040 v-slot extrusions.

I recommend printing this right-side up (i.e., in the direction it faces when mounted) with supports from the build plate. You could probably print it upside down with relatively minimal supports, but if your supports don't come off cleanly, you might end up impeding the path of the filament sensor lever.

Print at .2mm layer height with 4 perimeters and 15% infill.
