Bean Hopper Chute Shutter Stopper Baffle for Iberital Challenge Coffee Grinder
thingiverse
I've been using my Iberital Challenge Grinder for a while now and it does a decent job of grinding coffee, considering its affordable price. However, the beans quickly become stale when left in the hopper, which is why I prefer to put them back in their bag after grinding. Unfortunately, this grinder lacks a valve or shutter on the hopper, making it difficult and messy to empty. To address this issue, I decided to design and 3D print a simple shutter to close off the bottom of the hopper and make the process easier, cleaner, and quicker. The unique geometry of my Iberital Challenge Grinder made this project more challenging than expected, but I'm still 80% satisfied with the final result. While there are improvements I'd like to make, I think this version works well enough that I'm happy to share it with others. If you're in Australia and would like a printed set mailed to you, feel free to message me here or on coffeesnobs. Additionally, if you have a coffee grinder without a shutter, don't hesitate to reach out and I might be able to help adapt the design.
