BeamBot Pen Plotter
thingiverse
After seeing the Axidraw, I was determined to own one. But at $475, it just wasn't worth the cost. So I started searching for similar projects on Thingiverse, but most of them fell short when it came to appearance and sturdiness. I decided then and there to design my own machine from scratch. To ensure stability and rigidity, I used two aluminum extrusions as the base. The Arduino UNO and CNC shield were housed in a case between these two sturdy components, keeping everything neatly organized and eliminating messy wires. A separate electronics box was no longer needed, making the overall setup even more efficient. With Inkscape and nearly any g-code sender, this machine is ready to roll. Please note that this is still a work in progress - all necessary parts can be found in the files section, but the instruction manual isn't quite complete yet. You can find the instruction manual here: https://penplotterassembly.dozuki.com/c/Pen_Plotter_Assembly Some features are still under development, denoted by asterisks.
