Beam Compass

A custom-made beam compass designed with TurboCAD to hone design skills and master the software. The parts used are readily available, except for 3mm inserts, which can be easily sourced on eBay or similar platforms. To build this precision instrument, you'll need: 1. A single 10d nail 2. Three 3mm inserts 3. Two M3*6 socket cap screws 4. One M3*20 Socket cap screw For the needle point, I employed a hack saw to trim the nail to precise length, then used a cordless drill to smooth out any burrs. The nail is then carefully pressed into the bottom of the rear slide plate. To secure the inserts, I utilized a soldering iron to heat and press them firmly into place on the back slide plate and the end of the beam. One notable requirement is that the pencil clip will require additional support during construction.
