Bealach Heabhal Shieling
sketchfab
Near Kildonan Glen, a cluster of three ancient shieling mounds stands tall on the eastern slope of Heabhal and at the foot of the Bealach Heabhal pass. Across their surfaces, 10-12 bothain-airighe are scattered, bearing witness to centuries past. Some of these bothans boast sturdy stone foundations, while others showcase turf walls that have weathered the elements. One of these structures stands out as a particularly well-preserved example of stone architecture. This group of shieling huts remains unlisted on Canmore's registry.
