Protective Acrylic Case Design for BeagleBoard Black The design offers safe handling while keeping connections fully exposed. This is achieved by incorporating carefully placed cutouts for the Ethernet, power connector, and USB ports. Spring-loaded buttons resembling Galaxian spaceship modules serve as test switches to prevent rattling noises during board movement. The prototype encountered several issues that were eventually addressed through updates. Prototype Limitations Initial design mistakes led to errors in pin counting for J1. This resulted in needing an additional cut while fabricating the prototype case. Inadequate clearance was observed from the power jack, as well as from C34. Sources and Build Details The updated designs are available, but they have yet to be tested thoroughly. The protective case is compatible with CNC milling or laser cutting techniques, with successful builds achieved on an LPKF Protomat S43 circuit board milling machine after some fine-tuning adjustments were made. The design process utilized DXF files; users are advised to check the file scale to ensure compatibility with their chosen method of fabrication.
