Beagle Boy Pocket
thingiverse
I'm working on a handheld Linux game console based on the PocketBeagle and other small PCBs. The audio module is still under investigation, but my test unit has a phatDAC installed currently. The button fit and comfort may need some finishing touches. I attached the button faces to the tact buttons, placed them in the case, glued the button backing pieces onto the buttons, and then soldered the wires to the buttons. The legs of all the buttons except for start and select have been spread flat out. Start and select button legs are folded under, with wires soldered in place, and the buttons glued securely into position. Future versions will probably include alignment tabs on the backing plates to simplify assembly. I began my design by using the simple gaming cape as a starting point, and most of the GPIO usage remains the same, with two additional buttons and an I2S dac added in.
