Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan sits within Khaibullinsky district, where excavations unfolded in 2007. A necropolis known as Perevolochan-1 was unearthed, housing a barrow numbered 11 and containing burial number two. Among the burial's possessions stood a necklace consisting of twenty-five beads paired with a golden piercing bead (designated number three). This particular bead measures sixteen millimeters in length and six millimeters in diameter, featuring a one-millimeter hole. Crafted from an animal horn, it boasts glass inserts skillfully inlaid within its surface. The era from which this piece originates is the Iron Age, specifically dating back to the fourth century BC. It falls under the classification of Early Sarmatian culture.
