First thing, many thanks to testudor for the original kit, this mod is a life saver. To be clear first, you can mount any 92 mm fan to the original frame, as long you can make it work. But the frame of the be quiet fans were in the way of some screws. So I needed to change it a bit and made it thicker. The housing is purely cosmetic (and hides the cables). So you can print the frame do the upgrade and you are good to go. I also changed the housing to fit the be quiet fans better and also for flat head screws instead of countersunk. Some tips;I printed them on 0.25 mm layer height. And about 8 lines of brim plus no part cooling to avoid warping. One fan (the one next to the power connectors) will need to be mounted from the top, after fixing the frame to the heatsink, otherwise the fan will obscure 1 mounting screw, between frame and heatsink. Some screw driving agility will be needed (pic). For the other two fans it works either ways.To mount the frame to the heatsink you might need longer screws. These you can get from the original shroud (pic)Before screwing in the fans, plan for wire routing ahead (pic). The housing is designed to cover the cables, if routed as shown in the cable routing picture. The Housing was made for flat screw heads. They print with no support. But there is one bridged layer (pic) to support flat screw head. Check bridge settings. These parts will need to be opened after the print is finished. Use a soldering iron or a heated screwdriver will also work (don't burn yourself). You can print the frame thinner (than 7 mm as in 3d files) just scale it down in Z. I tried down to 3 mm. It works just fine and prints faster. The 3 mm frame warped a little under extreme stressing + 1 fan mounted in reverse as a test. Despite that it held the fans no problem, and no performance loss. For print orientation inside the slicer refer to pictures.Fan curves with thermals in pictures. 2012-2025 MHz sustained for multiple hours @ 90-96% load. GPU max. temp. 65C, hotspot 79C. Max voltage 1.0620V no curve adjustments.
