Creating 3D models with 3ds Max and meshmixer is just a hobby for now. One year ago, I used an FFF printer to bring one of my designs to life with 1.75 PLA filament. All of my creations are released under free licenses, allowing anyone to print them and sell the finished products online or in their store. The only restriction is that you cannot redistribute the digital model itself, which is why I keep costs as low as possible.
