Blood Draw Tube System This system uses a vacuum-sealed tube to collect blood samples from patients. The tube is connected to a needle that draws blood into the tube when the patient's vein is punctured. The tube contains a clot activator, which helps to form a blood clot in the sample after it has been drawn. This clot forms due to the presence of thrombin and other clotting factors present in the blood itself. After the blood sample has been collected, the tube can be sealed by snapping the plastic top down over the needle. The tube is then ready for transportation to a laboratory for testing.
