BD's Tarantula X-Axis Motor and Idler Mounts
thingiverse
These mounts are specifically designed for x-axis motors and idler pulley mounts on the Tevo Tarantula 3D printer. They can be easily integrated with the Tarantula's stock z-axis carriages or custom-made z-axis carriages that don't have built-in mounts for the x-axis motor and pulleys. There are two versions of the motor mount available, one featuring a lower extension that can serve as an adjustable trigger for the z-min end stop. This design includes a spot to embed an M3 lock nut at the bottom, requiring a long M3 screw to engage the z-min end stop. When installing these mounts with the Tarantula's stock z-axis carriages in place, 30mm M3 screws are needed for the motor mount and 30mm or longer M5 screws for the idler pulleys. It's also essential to ensure that these brackets are fully seated on the aluminum extrusion; if necessary, you may need to adjust your z-carriages or drill new holes in the acrylic if the existing holes don't align perfectly with your build. Custom Section UPDATE 2016/05/25 I've added three new STL files designed for Rev2 of the idler pulley mount. This updated design incorporates a built-in tensioner into the mount. To use this with the stock z-carriage on the idler side, you'll need two low-profile M5 screws and two M5 locknuts for the pulley axles, one hex-head M5 x 30mm screw, 1 or 2 M5 washers, a standard M5 hex nut, and some light-duty thread locker (e.g. LocTite Blue) for the tensioner mechanism. A video of my dry run with this new design is available at https://youtu.be/UyyxU8uNeCY
