BD-1 big lens mold
thingiverse
I use this tool to press scorching acrylic into a perfectly curved dome shape. I then employ a glowforge laser cutter to carefully carve out a precise 48mm circle - a testament to the mold's impressive capabilities, as evidenced by the accompanying picture which showcases a smaller version but actually yields a 50mm dome that allows for any size cut as needed. I heat the acrylic (3mm) to an optimal temperature of 312F for exactly 3-4 minutes, carefully monitoring its progress to avoid overheating, which can cause bubbles to form and render the material useless - or, if you will, suitable only for artistic endeavors.
