BCN3D++ Single Bowden Extruder Faster, Stronger, Better Building on altrome's groundbreaking design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:406531), this improved version prioritizes faster printing speeds, larger printer areas, and exceptional quality. To achieve these enhancements, I thoroughly revised the BCN3D+ head, creating a superior version capable of handling prints with X=275, Y=195, Z=240 dimensions. Check out the Dual Bowden Edition (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:419287) Instructions Increase Printing Space: To enlarge the print area significantly, I narrowed down the head's width from 76mm to 48mm. This substantial reduction frees up almost three extra centimeters of printing space, transforming the printer from a 240mm capacity to nearly 275mm. Initial testing with a new smaller extruder support in ABS yielded incredible results, thanks in part to reduced top-part temperature exposure and no risk of warping during print runs. By moving the layer vent fan support from the rear to the front of the head, I made room for tighter joining. Adhering small vents using Loctite on both supports functioned magnificently. As the extruder motor has been removed, height limits are increased dramatically from the original 200mm up to 240mm with this Bowden setup. Expanding the printer size will necessitate modification of the firmware, a new, larger glass, and relocating the bed holding bolts under it to keep them concealed from view. For updating firmware, locate "configuration.h" at line 320. Then make these changes: Define print boundaries after homing: Define X_MAX_POS =275 Define Y_MIN_POS 0 Define Y_MAX_POS =195 Defining X_MIN POS= 0 Defining Y MIN PO s= 210 Define Z MAX POST =240 X now prints from 242.5 to 275 Y from 200 to 190 Z is 240 to the Z MAX POSs Beter speed, higher printing quality: Heavy components naturally resist direction changes because of their inertia weight which in turn makes them difficult to change momentum when printing fast therefore using a bowden setup effectively takes motor load off from printer by transferring drive power elsewhere. Consequently with more than 550 gram saved, one gets high-quality results in shorter printing time. List of components: Used modified parts for base taken directly (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:406531) then printed base unextr in ABS to save material; originally the base was aluminium. Ventilation support was elongated VENT BASE_UN_EXTR.STL by only adding 3 extra cm more bolt space, but a little larger since there were not too many parts inside of it, print this support at 40 percent and .2 layer PLA to keep from using that expensive aluminum for fan and get just a good support that can help us reach printing limits in our small space. Lastly, updated slicer setting by enabling retract value 8 as it gives even cleaner output with these modified extruder components on our prints
