BCN3D Sigma Stock Hotend Cover - Pimp Your Hotend

thingiverse

This is a custom cover and output vent designed to replace the stock white metal covers that protect the hotend assembly on the BCN3D Sigma 3D printer. For those who are concerned about weight reduction, these custom covers weigh approximately 14 grams, whereas the original metal ones weigh around 33 grams, excluding screws and fans. The design utilizes standard fans and retains the metal framing surrounding the stock hotends, as well as the stock bolts. However, an additional two M3 x 12 bolts are required to secure the output vent to the main cover. You can use the three main fan bolts to attach the fan back onto the vent, leaving one bolt hole empty, or you can opt for using one of the stock bolts in the top corner that holds the cover to the metal frame, along with two additional M3 x 16 bolts. This alternative is optional, but it works fine, albeit with a slight protrusion. To accommodate the main fan, you'll need to unplug it from the fan PCB by removing the rear plastic cover and re-plugging it after threading it through.
