BCN3D+ HD

I improved my Z wobble effect suppression for the BCN3D+. After trying various setups without success, I decided to enhance the Z axis with leadscrew M8x1.5 rods. The results are outstanding - never before have I achieved such fine results with this upgrade! Share your exceptional outcomes! Note: Be sure to check the optimal layer height for the Z-axis, which changes with the new Leadscrew pitch of 1.5. To find the optimal layer value, simply visit http://prusaprinters.org/calculator/#steppermotors and enter the desired height and Leadscrew pitch in the "Optimal layer height" section. To install this upgrade, you'll only need to replace the two Z motion parts that formerly housed M8 standard nuts with anti-backlash. Now, I'm using an IGUS nut along with a corresponding leadscrew rod. You can find these components on various international websites, but I chose http://bcndynamics.com since it's conveniently located near my home. To take advantage of this upgrade, you'll need to update the firmware by redefining the stepper motor steps per unit in Marlin (define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {80.19, 80.43, 200.016 / 1.5, 458.3}). Make sure to use the full equation (steps_per_mm = (motor_steps_per_rev * driver_microstep) / thread_pitch). Here's what you'll need: - 2 Ø8x1.5 Trapezoidal Leadscrew rods - 2 Ø8x1.5 Trapezoidal Leadscrew nuts - 2 M3x12 DIN 912 - 2 M3 DIN 934
