BCN3D+ direct drive extruder
thingiverse
I was fed up with the original extruder that was constantly chewing on the filament. I'm using a 7mm diameter filament pulley, also known as an MK8 filament pulley. With it, my firmware's extruder feed rate is set at 138 steps per millimeter (my driver setup uses 16 microstepping). Additional parts needed: - A 7mm diameter filament pulley - One 624ZZ bearing - One M4x8mm flat head screw - Two M4 nuts I also switched to using 1.75mm filament, as the 3mm one was constantly breaking on its own overnight and harder to feed. Check out my setup in action here: https://youtu.be/QBE8fT5O4Ug If you're a curious maker, tinkerer, or hacker, take a look at my blog here: http://www.therandomlab.com
