BbReader_PortableModular_AV3.0
grabcad
This concept revolves around a portable main unit with modular blocks, featuring two color themes - black body with red substrate and white symbols or white body with green substrate and grey symbols. Family-colored elements are incorporated in sound hole areas, keypad block sections, and stand compartments. The original files can be found in SolidWorks 2012. The reader includes a main unit with modular blocks (Keypad, Mag Stripe reader, NFC reader, Customer Display, Receipt Printer) and a built-in stand. Each block can function as an internal or external block. Internal connection is done via microUSB pair (socket at the block and plug at the unit), while external connection uses a microUSB male-female cable. For the Customer Display, a Graphic LCD Display 16x2 is recommended (http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/NHD-0216XZ-FSW-GBW/NHD-0216XZ-FSW-GBW-ND/2165850). Red and green rectangular LEDs are suitable for Mag Stripe Reader and NFC Reader (http://www.us.kingbright.com/images/catalog/spec/WP113GDT.pdf), while tactile switches serve as Keypad components (http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?pv567=549&FV=fff40011%2Cfff8005e&k=tact+switch&mnonly=0&newproducts=0&ColumnSort=0&page=1&quantity=0&ptm=0&fid=0&pageSize=25). A build-in thermal printer is ideal for the Receipt Printer (http://www.adafruit.com/products/597), and a USB socket can be added for external WiFi Antenna support (http://www.adafruit.com/products/1030). Each block attaches to the main unit using a lock mechanism, while the Receipt Printer is fixed to the stand with special guides. For more detailed information, refer to the attached 3D models.
