This Open Sesame Challenge entry features several accommodations for visually impaired users, including large, shaped status LEDs for colorblindness, lighted and easily seen card contact locations, a backlit keypad for dark or night operations, and a braille keypad. The design's vertical layout ensures that the magnetic strip reader can be removed without affecting the basic shape, while its arched top redirects spillage or moisture from accumulating on top when installed on a vertical surface. The initial submission showcased the concept rendering, with subsequent submissions incorporating necessary changes to meet specific requirements. One significant modification involved bringing the antenna closer to the surface due to low-cost antenna specs limiting an effective range of only 10mm. Recent additions include a foil strip and header for detecting external enclosure removal, as well as an aesthetic jacket that also protects wall mount bolts. Removal of these bolts is necessary to access the internal enclosure and circuitry.
