BB-9E Droid from "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" Echo Dot Case (2nd Gen)
myminifactory
This BB-9E astromech droid design is inspired by "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." It makes its first appearance on the capital flagship of the First Order, seen in the movie, known as "The Supremacy." Several hours were spent studying reference photos of BB-9E from the film to ensure that these STLs are the most accurate possible for printing. Features: Easy to print, with minimal overhangs. An opening is located on the bottom of the head, allowing air to escape and draw in when Echo is either removed or placed inside. This feature prevents the Echo from being suctioned into place. A large port opening provides space for power and auxiliary cables, eliminating worries about damaged connections. Near-perfect tolerances are built into the design (0.25mm). The bottom half of the body has a reservoir that can be filled to add weight to the design. A spot on the head holds a 10 x 2 mm magnet firmly in place. Testing has confirmed that this will not affect Echo Dot negatively. A hole is located in the center of the lid, allowing Alexa to hear commands clearly. A stand keeps the model stable and prevents it from rolling around. However, a small ring can be used instead if the stand is not printed. Here's a link to the magnets purchased for constructing this model: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0753ZPBLQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This design is on the larger side, which is why it was split into multiple parts. It fits perfectly within an Ender 3 print bed (230 x 230 mm). Anyone with a smaller print volume will need to divide these parts into smaller chunks. If this design gains attention, please let me know if you'd like these resized for your specific needs. I'd be happy to make adjustments to accommodate your printing requirements. Please excuse the poor paint job on this model.
