I edited an awesome BB-8 version 3.3 from wkarraker. I simply separated the top from the rest of the body, allowing me to use its contents as a box for storing candies and other treats during visits. Next, I printed the individual parts just like in wkarraker's original design. To keep the cap securely in place, I split the BB-8_Body_Whole part into two separate sections: BB-8_Body_Whole_1 and BB-8_Body_Whole_2. Then, I added a sturdy ring that attaches to the upper portion using glue. Finally, I created a simple stand consisting of two parts that can be glued together for added stability.
