BB 7003

The BB 7003 is the SNCF prototype that allowed for the development of traction by thyristor hammers. Produced in 1974 based on the BB 15007, this machine foreshadowed the series of BB 72001 locomotives operating at 1.5 kV continuous current. In its turn, it will be transformed into BB 10003, a prototype asynchronous motor locomotive, in 1982. The BB 7003 has been reproduced at HO scale by LS Models in its version without car casing characteristic of one of the cabins.
