The Level Switch LBFS, designed by BAUMER, is a versatile device that can be operated using Solidworks 2013 (native), IGES, STEP, or x_t (parasolid) formats. It's used to detect liquid levels in tanks for media separation and offers empty-pipe detection or dry-run protection for pumps. The sensor works by radiating a high-frequency sweep signal into the tank, which the media absorbs as a virtual capacitor, forming a circuit with a coil in the sensor head to create switch point signals. This device has two output signals - Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC) - that can be adjusted using the FlexProgrammer 9701 to dampen output signal fluctuations caused by fluctuating media levels. The measurement is precise and not affected by the sensor's position in the tank, with options for foam, bubble, condensate, and sticky media compensation in the Flex-software. Additionally, users can adjust the sensor to a specific media type. It measures liquids like water and oil, as well as dry materials such as coal dust or plastic granulate. The Level Switch LBFS is available with PNP or NPN output and can be easily sealed using PTF for the process connection.
