A Level Switch, crafted by BAUMER, is available in various versions: - Solidworks 2013 (natively integrated) - IGES - STEP - x_t (parasolid) The LBFS Level Switch is designed to accurately detect levels in tanks, enabling media separation and ensuring empty-pipe detection or dry-run protection for pumps. A high-frequency sweep signal radiates from the sensor tip into the tank. The media acts as a virtual capacitor, combined with a coil in the sensor head, creating a circuit that generates the switch point signal. This virtual capacitance is dependent on the dielectric value DK (Dielectric Constant) of the media. Two output signals are provided: Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC). With the FlexProgrammer 9701, users can activate damping of the output signal in case of fluctuating media levels, for instance during tank filling. Additionally, the output signals NO and NC can be reversed. The measurement is precise and unaffected by the mounting position in the tank. In the Flex-software, compensation for foam, bubbles, condensate, and sticky media can be set. An adjustment facility is also available, enabling users to tailor the sensor to specific media requirements. The Level Switch LBFS accurately measures liquids like water and oil, as well as dry media such as coal dust or plastic granulate. Available outputs include PNP and NPN options. The process connection can be sealed easily using PTFE.
