BACKGROUND: The purpose behind this design is to create a sleek, lightweight model with a primary focus on an accessible drive-on angle that accommodates any car height. By leveraging a 3° angle achieved when mounted to a towing vehicle, and enabling it to lie flat in storage, the trailer maximizes functionality and space efficiency. LIFTING/LOWERING: A central hydraulic pump provides pressure to two pistons (one connected to each Lifting Unit) that stretch down to lower the platform and compress up to lift. A reservoir supplies necessary fluids, securely attached to the pump for reliable operation. Although an electrical system powers the hydraulics, substituting it with a manual pump would be simple if required. SUSPENSION: To minimize space consumed by the trailer, the suspension system is strategically mounted above the wheels, allowing them to snugly fit against the platform. A robust mountain bike-inspired setup uses a central pivot arm to transmit vertical wheel movements. The configuration cleverly circumvents potential wheel obstruction on fenders due to sufficient clearance below for safe bouncing around. DIMENSIONS: Dimensions include a width of 2816mm, length of 5330mm, an impressive lead-in angle of 3 degrees, and a ride height of 225mm. SOLIDWORKS ASSEMBLY DETAILS: Native SW files are highly customizable within their individual settings. In the main assembly, however, each design element is uniquely adjustable when accessed via distinct assembly files. Specifically: Track Height Adjustment: Locate and modify the "PISTON UPPER MOUNT" component in the "HYDRAULIC-PISTON Assembly," and the "PISTON TUBING files" will automatically adjust according to the piston's extension. Suspension Modulation: Within the "SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY" file, navigate to the "SUSPENSION-COIL" part. Adjusting the spiral curve in this section affects overall assembly adjustments. Jockey Wheel Maneuverability: Simply access the "JOCKEY WHEEL ASSEMBLY" and easily modify both the wheel height and rotation. UPDATES: Available STEP files enable visualization of raised or lowered trailer models without SolidWorks capabilities, using TRAILER-ASSEMBLED_lowered.rar for lower settings, and TRAILER-ASSEMBLED_lifted.rar for lifted versions.
