Bauer 20V battery power tap

<p>This is a power tap for using a Bauer 20V battery to power other devices.</p><p>Printing and assembly instructions included in the files.</p><p>Always exercise caution when working with wiring and lithium batteries. They will discharge very fast if shorted with extremely non-desirable results.</p><p>This uses M3 screws and M3 nuts for assembly. 2 ea. M3 X 20mm and 2 ea. M3 X 3mm screws and 4 ea. M3 nuts.</p><p>Also used is 14ga. silicone jacketed wire and XT60 connectors.</p><p>(Be careful if trying a different wire gauge. The strain-relief on the cap is sized for 14ga. wire. Also, be sure to use a wire gauge adequate for the current you will draw when using.)</p><p>I used a brass piano hinge to create the contacts that engage the battery connectors.</p><p>The piano hinge is cut with a dremel tool to create two rectangles 17mm long X 8mm wide.</p><p>The two rectangles are bent 90° approx. 3mm from one end to allow a positive stop when installed and create a flat surface for soldering the wire.</p><p>This works well with DC powered pencil soldering irons like the Pinecil, TS100 or similar.
