Battletech Fold Flat L2 Building
thingiverse
I was looking at the Alpha Strike Box Set which has around 15 fold flat buildings that can easily be stored in the box. After looking around a bunch, I noticed the only fold flat buildings available online are papercraft. I figured I'd have a go at making a proof of concept for a fold flat building that can be printed on a 3d printer. There's a front panel which contains a door at the bottom, and a side panel with only windows, and lastly a top section that slides over the panels and keeps the structure rigid. I straightened some paperclips and pinned the hinges to keep everything together. It's a rudimentary building, but it was meant to just be a proof of concept, once I have some more time I'll be making some more of these with different shapes and tops. technically, if you make a different buidling top, you can just keep adding panels and make different shapes like rectangles or hexagons depending on the number of panels you add. all you need is a different top to fit the shape you're making.
