I made several key modifications to the original design. The original design necessitated some assembly, so I connected all the parts together seamlessly, eliminating the need for any glue. I also reinforced certain walls to make them more robust. The revised design now consists of just three components:\r\n\r\n* MALE COMPONENT\r\n* FEMALE COMPONENT\r\n* BUTTON\r\n\r\nI created a concealed compartment in the male component where you can squeeze the button and it will spring into place. (It's a snug fit, but it works.) I increased the height of the button so that when you slide it into the female buckle, the male buckle clicks securely into position. (You'll need to add a spring under the button.) \r\n\r\nTo achieve optimal results with your 3D printer, experiment with different print orientations.\r\n\r\n* I printed the female part with no supports, hollow side down on the build plate. \r\n* I printed the male part sideways (with supports: only touching the build plate)\r\n* I printed the button face up, without any supports. \r\n\r\nI 3D printed my buckles using CC3D Silk Gold PLA. They may not be an exact color match to the authentic buckles, but they look quite nice. \r\n\r\nTIP: If you don't have a spring on hand for the button, push the button into the male component, then take a regular-sized Post-it note, fold it up multiple times until it's a small square, and then push it under the button. The tightly-folded paper actually makes a decent spring. You'll likely need to trim a bit of paper off the Post-it note so that the paper spring isn't too thick. The buckles should slide easily into each other and lock securely in place, with the proper amount of spring tension under the button (see the video at the bottom of this page).\r\n\r\nORIGINAL DESIGN BY STRAEKER.
