BATTLESHIPS - With Rotating Gun Turrets (No Support Required)

A high-tech Battleship model that prints in place, featuring rotating gun turrets once freed from its 3D printed confines. Measuring 11cm in length at standard size, this intricate design can be fully printed in approximately 90 minutes on a Replicator 2 and two hours on a 5th Generation Replicator, utilizing 24 grams of filament. The print has been rigorously tested on a Replicator 2 / 5th Generation Replicator and Z18, ensuring that it will yield excellent results on most machines using PLA and equipped with a filament fan. Achieving outstanding results with ABS may prove more challenging due to the low angle of the gun barrels (60 degrees from vertical), a limitation inherent in PLA machines with a filament fan printing at more extreme angles than those without or utilizing ABS. The fine clearances required for this design also pose a challenge for other machines and slicing applications. If prints become stuck together, and the Gun Turrets fail to spin/rotate after gentle side-to-side wriggling, try uniformly increasing the scale, which will enhance internal clearances. Print-in-Place models are highly sought after due to their unique ability as one-piece prints with moving parts built inside each other. This design is another exemplary model, allowing you to print one or an entire fleet. UPDATE: A version featuring fixed turrets has been added for those experiencing difficulties with the turrets moving during printing. This issue could be caused by the slicing application and/or machine failing to accurately handle the required details, leading to poorly printed turrets that do not break away from internal supports easily post-printing with a gentle twist of the turret.
