Diver Discovers German Battleship Anchor off Scapa Flow Seabed Kevin Heath made a remarkable discovery on October 16, 2018, while exploring the seabed near Scapa Flow. The anchor in question originated from one of the German battleships that were intentionally sunk in 1919. Measuring 2.5 meters from top to bottom, this massive anchor now rests on the ocean floor. Approximately one meter of its length is buried beneath the mud, while a tangled pile of chain supports the stock above. The anchor's presence serves as a poignant reminder of history's remnants still hidden in the depths.
